Leadership: There has to be a sponsor or head project manager who is in charge of the overall vision and direction of the project and team. Without a leader who can inspire and guide a project, the team will lose its focus and motivation once setbacks start to appear.
Communication: Proper project management communication means that every member of the team is aware of their specific roles and tasks, as well as the timeframe in which they must perform them.
Time: Time management, as it relates to project management, is figuring out which tasks are important and which ones are urgent. Important tasks that need to be completed sooner than later are urgent, while important tasks that must be completed but not just yet are not urgent. It is the project manager’s job to make sure that all team members understand this.
Planning: This skill is all about foreseeing potential risks and coming up with solutions before the problems even happen. A project manager and project team that have such intuitive planning skills will more than likely achieve their specific goals within the specified time they have set.
